Men's Health: Prostate (PSA) & Hormone Panel
Men's health exams: prostate antigen (PSA), testosterone and general checkup, in Spanish.

- Prostate antigen (PSA)
- Testosterone level
- General men's checkup
- Results explained in Spanish
Men's health exams check what usually goes unnoticed: prostate, hormones, blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol. At La Michoacana they are walk-in, with the lab on site and results explained in Spanish.
At what age should I start?
The PSA conversation usually starts at 50, and earlier, around 40 to 45, if your father or brother had prostate cancer or if you are African American. Blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol get checked from age 30, especially with extra weight or family history.
What does the visit include?
A general check with blood pressure and weight, blood work with PSA and a hormone panel, a review of urinary symptoms (getting up at night, weak stream, burning) and of the fatigue, low mood or poor sleep that many men put up with for years.
What does a high PSA mean?
It does not mean cancer. The value also rises with prostate inflammation, a urinary infection, cycling or recent ejaculation. That is why it is read alongside your symptoms and, if needed, repeated.
What if I am tired all the time?
Fatigue has many causes and it is worth measuring before assuming. The same sample covers blood sugar, thyroid, vitamin B12 and hormones. If the result calls for treatment, it starts during the visit, and if you need follow-up, chronic condition care is right here.
Do these tests require fasting?
For the lipid panel and fasting glucose, yes: 8 to 12 hours. PSA and the hormone panel do not, though morning is better because testosterone varies through the day.
