Flu and Tetanus (Tdap) Vaccines

We give the influenza vaccine and tetanus toxoid walk-in, in minutes, with written documentation you can take to school, work or your paperwork.

When is the flu shot due?

Every year, ideally at the start of the season, September to October, because protection takes about two weeks to build. Getting it late still helps: the Texas season runs well into winter.

How often is the tetanus booster?

Every ten years. It is also moved up when there is a dirty or deep wound, or one involving rusty metal, and more than five years have passed since your last dose. If you cannot recall when yours was, say so: that is how the decision is made.

Which reactions are normal?

Soreness or redness in the arm for a day or two, sometimes fatigue or a slight fever. It does not mean the vaccine made you sick. What needs immediate attention: a body-wide rash, swelling of lips or tongue, or trouble breathing.

Do they count for paperwork?

Yes. We give you dated documentation. If you are going through an immigration process, the I-693 exam includes a full review of your schedule and the vaccines USCIS requires.

Can children be vaccinated here?

We give influenza and tetanus toxoid from the age indicated for each vaccine. The full childhood schedule is handled by a pediatrician or the county immunization clinic; if you need one specific dose for school, tell us which and we will say whether we have it.

Why come to La Michoacana?

We are on Spencer Hwy, at 6500 Ste 180, just off Highway 225 and minutes from Deer Park, South Houston and La Porte. We open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday from 9 AM to 9 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 7 PM, so you can come after work or on the weekend without taking time off. No appointment and no insurance needed. Our whole team speaks Spanish, parking is free and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.

How payment works

You pay per visit, with no insurance involved. We take cash, debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover) and phone payments. We do not take checks. Ask about the price of your service when you arrive or over the phone: we tell you before we start, so you know what you are paying.

Where our patients come from

Most live in Pasadena, in ZIP codes 77505, 77504, 77506 and 77503. We also see families from Deer Park, South Houston, La Porte, Pearland and the rest of the Houston area. If you work at the industrial plants along Highway 225 or the Ship Channel, we are on your way home.
